Adames Tags Yankees for 5 Hits Saturday, July 8th , 2017 Willy Adames knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Fenway Park, he made his case to be considered among that group. The 21-year-old shortstop hammered 5 hits in 5 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Boston Red Sox fell, 12-9, to the New York Yankees. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Yankees manager told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Adames wasn't the difference."
