Tatis Jr. Wins NL Best Player Award Monday, May 13th , 2019 20-year-old Fernando Tatis Jr. sent shock waves through Major League Baseball last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the NL Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Tatis Jr. made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .652 average, 15 hits in 23 at-bats, 4 home runs and 8 RBI. Where the New York Mets shortstop goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Tatis Jr. certainly made his mark last week. This year, Tatis Jr. is batting .357 with 11 home runs and 34 RBIs. |
