Vernon Wells Injured, Out for Year Monday, August 11th , 2014 A blow for Vernon Wells today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 5 months with a broken bone in the elbow. Wells suffered the injury making a defensive play. Although officials from the Arizona Diamondbacks are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Wells's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature. This year Wells is hitting at a .242 pace with 3 home runs and 20 RBIs. He has played in 91 games and scored 22 times. |
