Victor Martinez Sidelined for Season Friday, August 1st , 2014 The season is ending on a bad note for Victor Martinez, catcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Martinez was hurt against the Seattle Mariners while running the bases. He suffered a ruptured achilles tendon and will be out for at least 4 months. To date, Martinez has collected 96 hits for a .235 average. He has posted 5 home runs, scored 36 runs and driven in 29 runs. |
