Rangers Win at Cleveland, 6-4
The Texas Rangers withstood an impressive performance by Cleveland right fielder Austin Jackson to defeat the Indians, 6-4, at Jacobs Field 1994-2014. Jackson was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Cole Hamels, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 9 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 9. His record now stands at 14-6. The Rangers, at 102-32, have a comfortable 28-game lead in their division.

Marcus Semien had a big 2-run home run for the Rangers in the top of the third inning. With Texas leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from Yovani Gallardo, the 7th overall pick in the 2006 draft, and punished it. The result was his 32nd home run of the season, which put the Rangers on top, 4-1.

Semien told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
