Blue Jays Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0
The Toronto Blue Jays moved to within one game of the League Championship Series today, downing the Oakland Athletics on the road at Oakland Coliseum by a score of 2-1. Blue Jays right-hander Roy Halladay had a strong outing. He threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Blue Jays a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Toronto relied on the hitting of Dmitri Young to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 2-0. For the game, Young had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Oakland skipper Oakland GM.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Oakland Coliseum in Oakland.
