Cardinals Advance to Divisional Series
Scott Rolen sparked his St. Louis Cardinals past the pesky Montreal Expos in a closely-contested Wild Card Series.

St. Louis topped Montreal 10-2 at Busch Stadium 1997-2005 to decide the series, 3-1

For his efforts, Rolen was rewarded with the series MVP trophy for his .438 batting average, 9 RBIs and 4 runs scored.

"You never want to leave anything on the field," Rolen said. "You never want to miss a play of defense you could have made, or give up an extra base you could have gotten, because in a series this tight you never know what you'll need to win."

The St. Louis Cardinals don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the San Francisco Giants - San Diego Padres series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Divisional Series schedule will be announced after the Wild Card Series finishes.
