St. Louis Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in WCS
The St. Louis Cardinals moved to within one game of the Divisional Series today, downing the visiting Montreal Expos at Busch Stadium 1997-2005 by a score of 5-3. Cardinals left-hander Mike Sirotka had a strong outing in which he threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The win gives the Cardinals a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Wild Card Series.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Jason Kendall came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Montreal pitcher Antonio Osuna, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting St. Louis on top, 5-3.

"I really like what we did out there today," Kendall said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Busch Stadium 1997-2005 in St. Louis.
