Texas Hot Streak Continues with 5-1 Win
|
The Texas Rangers picked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, knocking off the Kansas City Royals, 5-1. Starting pitcher Justin Verlander played a key role in the triumph. Picking up the save was Derek Law, his 1st. Texas, now 11-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.
Trey Mancini dealt the Royals a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Texas leading 2-1, Mancini, the 26th overall pick in the 2015 draft, hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"The guys are feeling pretty good about where they're at right now," said Rangers manager Rangers GM. "We have a lot of guys playing with confidence."
