Braves Win to Tie Series with Astros
The Atlanta Braves topped the Houston Astros by the score of 8-1 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Championship Series today. The largest share of the credit belongs to Atlanta starter John Smoltz, who threw 9 innings of 5-hit ball in the win.

Smoltz was in the zone all game. He frustrated Houston hitters while giving the Braves 9 innings of quality work. Smoltz threw 107 pitches, allowing 5 hits and getting 7 punchouts.

"Everything felt in sync," said Smoltz.

The next game is scheduled for Thursday. Slated to start are Jason Schmidt for Houston and Justin Thompson for Atlanta.
