Home Loss Shrinks Blue Jays' Series Lead to 3-2
The Seattle Mariners have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Toronto Blue Jays, winning 10-2 at Skydome today. Mariners shortstop Omar Vizquel went 5 for 6 with 3 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The win cuts the deficit facing the Mariners to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Championship Series.

Kevin Young, the 29-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Young contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Seattle up, 2-0.

"I got everyone together and told them they did great today," Seattle manager Mariners GM told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the Championship Series, it's only going to get harder."

The next game is scheduled for Sunday. The scheduled starters for the game are Roy Halladay for the Toronto Blue Jays and Randy D Johnson for the the Seattle Mariners.
