Toronto Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in CS
The Toronto Blue Jays got a strong performance from pitcher Jaret Wright, who stymied the Seattle offense en route to a 3-0 win in Game 3 of the Championship Series today. The Mariners could never get a bead on the right-handed Wright, who threw 5 innings of shutout ball. The Blue Jays now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

Charles Johnson, the Toronto catcher, contributed a 3-run home run in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 3-0, Blue Jays. For the game, Johnson went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

Johnson called the win "a collective effort."

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow in Toronto. Slated to start are Jamie Moyer for the Seattle Mariners and Hideki Irabu for the the Toronto Blue Jays.
