Reyes Powers Rangers Offense
|
The Texas Rangers defeated the New York Yankees, 4-2, at The Ballpark in Arlington 1994-2011. Texas was led by four-time All-Star Jose Reyes, who went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Trevor Bauer got credit for the win, improving to 19-2. He allowed 2 runs on 8 hits in 8 innings. Jake McGee earned his 33rd save in 38 tries.
With Texas trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Reyes hit a fastball from Patrick Corbin for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Rangers ahead, 3-1.
After the game, Texas manager Rangers GM applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
Texas has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
