Orioles Use Late Score to Top Twins, 5-4
|
Neil Walker made an impact in the 5-4 Baltimore win over Minnesota. Walker, who finished 2nd in the AL in slugging percentage with .537 in 2010, went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. Baltimore is now 68-54, 5 games up in the AL East Division.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jose Ramirez? The former first round draft pick Ramirez stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Baltimore up, 5-4. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 2 doubles and 1 single.
Said Minnesota manager Kurt Smith: "They just got the better of us."
