When the games really matter, the San Francisco Giants put on their best show, beating the Atlanta Braves by a final score of 3-2 today. Brett Tomko threw 7 innings allowing 1 run. San Francisco now leads Atlanta 1-0 in the best-of-7 affair.

It could have been a different outcome for San Francisco, had it not been for Todd Hollandsworth, the 24-year old left fielder . Hollandsworth contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put San Francisco up, 3-2.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Atlanta skipper Braves GM, "and it cost us."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Turner Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Mark Gubicza for San Francisco and Justin Thompson for Atlanta.
