With a narrow 4-3 series win, the San Francisco Giants have eliminated the Houston Astros and are Divisional Series winners.

"We tried not to look ahead to the League Championship Series, but we thought we'd be there for sure," said first baseman Mark McGwire, who was named series MVP.

San Francisco won the final game by a score of 7-4, wrapping it up at Astrodome.

McGwire's big series saw him hit .391 with a .533 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 5 runs.

The San Francisco Giants will play against the Atlanta Braves in the next round. Atlanta won their series against the Colorado Rockies 4 games to 2. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
