Boston turned a good effort from starter Ramon Ortiz into a win over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays at Tropicana Field. The final score was 2-1. Boston is now 78-84.
Ortiz was in the zone all game. He frustrated Tampa Bay hitters while giving the Red Sox 8 innings of quality work. Ortiz threw 106 pitches, allowing 2 hits and getting 9 punchouts.
