Orioles Reel-In 5-2 Win Over Yankees
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the two-time Great Glove Award winner Richie Sexson, the Baltimore Orioles stopped the New York Yankees, 5-2. Jeff Zimmerman converted his 12th save in 19 tries. With the win, Baltimore raised its record to 94-68.
Baltimore relied on the hitting of Robin Ventura to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Orioles on top, 3-0. For the game, Ventura had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Sexson told a Baltimore Chronicle reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
