Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Anaheim Angels and Texas Rangers.

Mark Buehrle pitched well, but the Texas Rangers still lost the game, falling 2-1 to the Anaheim Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The winner in relief was Ricky Bottalico. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 13-2. Brendan Donnelly earned his 31st save in 34 chances.

In the bottom of the sixth, Bret Boone deposited a solo home run to left. For Boone, it was his 18th home run of the year. The blast gave Anaheim the lead, 2-1. In all, Boone went 1 for 3 with a home run.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Boone told the Anaheim Bulletin.

Texas now has a 7-game losing streak.
