Yankees Sneak By Orioles, 1-0
|
The New York Yankees got a stellar performance from pitcher Jake Westbrook, who handcuffed the Baltimore offense en route to a win, 1-0, at Yankee Stadium 1988-2008. The Yankees go to 64-96 with the win.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when New York center fielder Ryan Thompson, facing Brandon Puffer, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Yankees the 1-0 win.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Westbrook.
