Athletics Bang Out 7-2 Win Versus Arizona
|
Ben Revere led Oakland to a win over Arizona. The final score was 7-2. Revere scored 2 times, while going 3 for 6. The center fielder also was credited with 1 RBI. Jose Mijares snagged the win in relief. In 2 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 1-0 on the season. Jordan Zimmermann got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
One of the key players for the Athletics was first baseman Freddie Freeman, who drilled a single in the top of the fifth inning. For the game, Freeman was 3 for 5 with 3 singles.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Freeman said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The win lifted the Oakland record to 59-59.
