"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.

Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.

John Halama of the Montreal Expos proved the point at Turner Field 1997-2016 today, holding the Atlanta Braves to 3 hits in a complete game shutout victory.

"Halama made us look real bad today," Braves manager Braves GM said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."

Halama had 9 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk as the Expos took the 3-0 win.

Currently Halama has a 15-8 won-lost record in 27 starts with a 3.44 ERA. He also has 116 strikeouts in 186 innings.
