Almost There: Chicago On Cusp of DS Triumph After 7-0 Win
|
The Chicago Cubs got an exceptional performance from starter Gerrit Cole, who silenced the Houston offense en route to a 7-0 shutout win in Game 4 of the Divisional Series. The Astros could never get a bead on the right-handed Cole, who threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball. The Cubs now hold a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series.
Cole, the starting pitcher for Chicago, took care of business. The right-hander, who finished 5th in the NL in strikeouts with 225 last year, racked up 12 Ks, while allowing just 3 hits. Opposing hitters had trouble barreling up the ball.
Said losing manager : "Give the Cubs credit. They played a better game than we did."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Wrigley Field 1979-2005 in Chicago.
