The Cleveland Indians powered past the hometown Texas Rangers, 6-1, in the opener of the League Championship Series at The Ballpark in Arlington 1994-2011 today. Cleveland starting pitcher Mat Latos threw 9.0 innings of 5-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Indians now lead the series 1-0.

Latos pitched a complete game for Cleveland. The 26-year-old right-hander was charged with 1 run on 5 hits. He struck out 6 during his 116-pitch performance.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Latos.
