Red Sox, Rangers Play 12 to Settle Game 3, Boston Now Leads Series 2-1

The Boston Red Sox nearly wasted a strong game from starter James Paxton, but were saved by some timely hitting in a 12th inning walk-off win over the Texas Rangers today.
Paxton pitched well in the 3-2 win at Fenway Park. He threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The win allowed Boston to seize a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.
Coming to the plate with two out in the bottom of the 12th inning, Boston right fielder AJ Pollock had a chance to be the hero. Facing Texas pitcher Aaron Harang with the bases loaded, Pollock, who finished 2nd in the AL in triples with 9 last year, hit a run-scoring single.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Pollock said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fenway Park in Boston.
