Tigers Drop Twins, 2-1
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers get after it.
Detroit Tigers starter Tim Lincecum turned in a sterling performance against the Minnesota Twins, leading his team to a slim, 2-1 win. The winner was Lincecum. He threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Carlos Rodón. Jim Johnson picked up the save, his 25th.
Ryan Zimmerman had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Detroit. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Detroit in front, 2-0.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Zimmerman said.
The Tigers are now 55-57.
