Hunter Slugs Brewers to 7-3 Win
|
The Milwaukee Brewers knocked off the Chicago Cubs, 7-3, at Miller Park. Torii Hunter was a big reason Milwaukee won. The center fielder was 4 for 4 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Milwaukee reliever Jason Frasor picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jon Lieber shouldered the loss. The Brewers raised their record to 68-74.
Hunter had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-0 fastball from Kerry Wood, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Brewers a 7-3 lead. It was the 30th home run of the year for Hunter.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Hunter. "And not try to do too much."
