Lee Blasts Brewers, Cardinals Take Game 5, 7-4
|
The St. Louis Cardinals have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Milwaukee Brewers, winning 7-4 at Busch Stadium 1997-2005 today. Cardinals first baseman Derrek Lee was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Cardinals to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.
Lee had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, when he grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Cardinals went on to win.
"Glad to see the fans get into it," said Lee.
The next game is set to be played for Saturday, October 4th , 2008 at Miller Park in Milwaukee.
