Behind an impressive start by Tyson Ross, Tampa Bay beat Minnesota, 5-0. The winner was Ross. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Garrett Richards. The win puts the Devil Rays at 52-53, while the Twins drop to 46-59.
Mike B Young had a big 2-run double for the Devil Rays in the top of the fourth inning. With Tampa Bay leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from former first round draft pick Garrett Richards and swatted a double to left. It was his 18th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Devil Rays ahead, 5-0.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Young told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
