Mariners Drop 11-0 Decision
|
The Texas Rangers soundly defeated the Seattle Mariners, 11-0, at The Ballpark in Arlington 1994-2011. Mike Trout, who finished 3rd in the AL in stolen bases with 59 in 2013, let his bat do the talking. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for Texas. The win was credited to 28-year old right-handed pitcher Trevor May in relief. His record improves to 5-4. Tyler Mahle took the loss. The Rangers have an impressive 73-32 record.
Texas got a big at-bat from Downey, California native Evan Longoria, who in the bottom of the third hit a grand slam home run. It was his 20th home run of the season and put the Rangers ahead, 8-0.
"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager .
