Wells Handcuffs Royals, Blue Jays Seize 1-0 Advantage in WC
|
The Wild Card Series got off to a quiet start today, with the host Toronto Blue Jays taking a low-scoring 2-1 win over the Kansas City Royals. Toronto right-hander Kip Wells was marvelous at SkyDome 1989-2015. The Blue Jays now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Aubrey Huff had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Toronto. He came through with a 2-run home run to put Toronto in front, 2-1.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Huff.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at SkyDome 1989-2015 in Toronto.
