Yankees Best Orioles in Pitching Duel
|
The New York Yankees eked out a 2-1 win versus the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards 1992-2011. Nobody did more than pitcher Patrick Corbin. He was terrific. Corbin picked up the win for New York, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 1 hits. He now sports a record of 15-7. The Yankees have a one-game lead in the AL East Division.
New York used a well-timed hit by Brandon Belt to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Yankees ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Pete Smith.
