7-3 Loss Extends Chicago Losing Streak
|
The Atlanta Braves knocked off the Chicago Cubs, 7-3, at Wrigley Field 1979-2005. Brandon Nimmo was a big reason Atlanta won. The center fielder went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The winner was Antonio Senzatela, who threw 94 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. The losses continue to add up for Chicago, having now dropped 8 straight.
Ben Zobrist was 1-5. He drove in 2 runs for Atlanta. The 36-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run single off Yordano Ventura. It was his 106th hit of the season.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Nimmo told the Atlanta Daily News.
