Cardinals Win with Late Heroics
|
The Cardinals grabbed a win, 4-3, at Busch Stadium 1997-2005, overcoming a fine effort from Philadelphia pitcher Kolby Allard. Allard went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Philadelphia now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
The decisive blow was delivered by Starlin Castro in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Dinelson Lamet to win the game for St. Louis. The home crowd went nuts.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager AU Cards.
