Down to Defeat Goes Pittsburgh, 6-2
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates went down to defeat to Tarik Skubal and his Los Angeles teammates. The final score was 6-2, in favor of the Dodgers. The third-place Pirates now sit at 72-74.
Hunter Renfroe had a big grand slam home run for the Dodgers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Los Angeles leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from Zack Wheeler and swatted a home run to right. It was his 39th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dodgers ahead, 6-0.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Skubal said.
