Twins Edge Orioles, 5-4
|
The Minnesota Twins defeated the Baltimore Orioles, 5-4, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards 1992-2011. Leading the charge for Minnesota was center fielder Mookie Betts. He was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Jason Adam picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Aaron Nola, who is tied for 2nd in the AL with a 10.9 K/9 rate, took the loss. The third-place Twins hiked their record to 46-55.
Betts had a timely hit for Minnesota in the top of the seventh. With Minnesota trailing 4-2, he turned a 2-1 changeup into a 3-run home run. It was his 18th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Minnesota.
"There's still time to turn this season around," said Betts.
