Behind a fine performance from Ian Kinsler, the Kansas City Royals knocked off the Texas Rangers, 8-5. Kinsler went 2-5 with a home run and a triple, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Royals. With the win, Kansas City raised its record to 52-45.

Kinsler had a timely hit for Kansas City in the top of the seventh. With Texas trailing 5-4, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season, making it 7-5, Kansas City.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Kinsler told the Kansas City Daily.
