Murphy Slugs Yankees to 9-6 Win
Behind a solid performance from right fielder David Murphy, the New York Yankees defeated the Texas Rangers, 9-6. Murphy was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 7 runs and scored twice for the Yankees. Nick Tropeano earned his 6th save in 8 chances. The victory puts New York at 39-57.

Murphy had a timely hit for New York in the bottom of the seventh. With Texas trailing 5-4, he turned a 1-0 fastball into a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 8-5, New York.
