Indians Squelch Twins Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Cleveland Indians tallied a win at Jacobs Field 1994-2014, throttling the Minnesota Twins, 4-0. Starting pitcher Jonathan Pettibone was a big reason for his team's success. Pettibone, now 10-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The Indians, at 65-28, have a comfortable 14-game lead in their division.
In the bottom of the first, Randal Grichuk delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Cleveland left fielder hit a 2-run single, putting the Indians in front, 4-0.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Pettibone.
