Rangers Need Extra Innings to Top Mariners, 3-2
|
Texas left-hander Cole Hamels helped his team edge Seattle by the score of 3-2. Hamels kept the opposing lineup in check. Jake McGee, now 3-4, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Jonathan Broxton notched his 2nd save in 3 chances.
Texas used the timely hitting of Kenji Johjima to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Rangers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Johjima told the Texas Citizen. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
Texas now has a record of 52-24 with the win.
