Indians Beaten By Tigers, 7-5
|
Randal Grichuk did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Cleveland Indians from being beaten, 7-5, to the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. Grichuk went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Seung-hwan Oh snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2 innings. He's now 2-1 on the season. Picking up the save was Sean Marshall, his 1st.
The Tigers beat the Indians in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Trea Turner produced in the bottom of the seventh. Batting against Greg Holland, Turner gave his team the lead, 6-5, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"It never gets old," said Turner. "Winning, that is."
The Tigers, now 6-3, have been playing some good baseball.
