New York Beaten, 8-5, by Baltimore
|
Thanks in large part to second baseman Jeff McNeil, the Baltimore Orioles beat the New York Yankees, 8-5. McNeil went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times. Mychal Givens snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-2 on the season. Ernesto Frieri suffered the loss. With the victory, the Orioles upped their record to 33-32.
Brandon Lowe, who is rated as the 9th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Baltimore cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We're trying to go out there and win games," McNeil told the Baltimore Daily News, "and we played pretty well tonight."
