Indians Score 6-1 Win Against Seattle
|
The Cleveland Indians earned a win at Safeco Field 1999-2012, stopping the Seattle Mariners, 6-1. Starting pitcher Jonathan Pettibone played a big role in his team's success. Pettibone, the winner, moves to 8-1. He threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. The AL Central Division-leading Indians have a record of 41-17.
Jonathan Schoop had a big bases-clearing double for the Indians in the top of the third inning. With Cleveland leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Jered Weaver, who finished 5th in the AL in innings pitched with 223.0 in 2012, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Indians ahead, 5-1.
"I like our moxie," said Indians manager Jake Indians.
