Texas took on Minnesota in front of a lively crowd.

Texas left fielder Mike Trout made his presence felt in the 9-3 Rangers triumph over the Minnesota Twins. Trout went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2. Cole Hamels, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 3.

The Rangers got a big hit from designated hitter Josh Hamilton. In the top of the sixth, Hamilton pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 10th home run of the season put the Rangers ahead, 9-3.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Texas manager Rangers GM.

The Rangers improved to a lofty 30-12.
