Kansas City Royals starter Kevin Gausman turned in an exceptional performance against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, resulting in a Kansas City win, 3-2. Neil Ramirez sewed up the save, his 10th. With their winning streak at 6, the Royals have raced to a strong start this season.

Yan Gomes, the 26-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Gomes contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Kansas City up, 3-1.

"Every loss hurts," said Boston manager Jonathan Sanders. "But this was a tough one."
