Baseball fans saw a good contest between the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

The New York Yankees got a good effort from starter Jacob deGrom in defeating the Tampa Bay Devil Rays at Tropicana Field. The final score was 3-2. Oliver Perez was credited with the save for New York, his 1st of the season.

deGrom threw well for New York, thwarting the Tampa Bay offense. The right-hander tossed 109 pitches over 8.2 innings. He allowed just 1 run on 5 hits.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," deGrom said in reaction to the win.

Tampa Bay falls to 14-17.
