Royals Deal Rangers 4-2 Loss
|
Kansas City beat Texas on the strength of starter Tony J Armas's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. Byung-Hyun Kim converted his 14th save in 19 tries. Kansas City raised its record to 75-65 with the win.
Kansas City relied on the hitting of Jerry Hairston Jr to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Royals on top, 4-2. For the game, Hairston Jr had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Kansas City manager Royals GM. "Our pregame was pretty good."
