5-2 Win Takes Cardinals to 68-67
|
The St. Louis Cardinals picked up a win at Great American Ball Park, knocking off the Cincinnati Reds, 5-2. Starting pitcher Aaron Harang played a key role in the triumph. Harang, now 7-6, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The victory gives St. Louis a record of 68-67.
Hideki Matsui was vital part of the St. Louis win. He went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first with one out, Matsui hit a 2-run double. It made the score 3-0, in favor of the Cardinals.
"Aaron is still learning," said Cardinals manager West Cards. "The sky's the limit for him."
