Good production from right fielder Geoff Jenkins helped the Florida Marlins topple the Pittsburgh Pirates, 10-8. Jenkins was 3-5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Marlins. Florida raised its record to 70-62 with the win.

Matt LeCroy hit a run-scoring double off Travis Miller in the top of the 11th, which put the Marlins in front, 9-8. In addition to the double, LeCroy had 3 singles, while going 4 for 6.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Jenkins told the Florida Citizen.
