Mets Prevail, 6-5, Over Atlanta
|
The New York Mets picked up a win at Turner Field 1997-2016, knocking off the Atlanta Braves, 6-5. Starting pitcher Rich Harden played a key role in the triumph. Jeff Nelson notched his 28th save in 31 chances. New York, at 65-66, sits in 4th place in the NL East Division.
New York right fielder Magglio Ordonez landed a blow when he socked a solo home run in the top of the fifth. It was his 41st home run of the season. With it, the Mets took a 6-5 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Ordonez told the New York Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
